Nov 2, 2015) – Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair Company (Midwest Fire), a SBA certified woman owned small business (WOSB), announced today that it has successfully completed requirements for the Houston-Galveston Area Council, Cooperative Purchasing Program HGACBuy. HGACBuy designation covers the majority of products offered by Midwest Fire.
“Obtaining the HGACBuy approval is all about making things easier for our customers,” said Midwest Fire Owner and CEO Sarah Atchison. “Many agencies, municipalities and cities have specific needs and requirements to purchase equipment using grants. These grants require specific pricing and multiple bids. For the most part, the HGACBuy designation allows prospective customers to quickly identify pricing on our equipment. Whether they are applying for a new grant, spending money on a grant they have received or are making a purchase that requires HGACBuy approvals, our equipment is now eligible. Customers will still receive the personal care when ordering, but we just want to continue to add value for our customers by making things even easier for them.”
HGACBuy removes the burden of the bid process required by most agencies for purchasing new apparatus. Prices are set and bids are submitted by companies in advance of purchases allowing companies to obtain the required number of bids in order to make a purchase. HGACBuy is used throughout the United States.
“We will have two primary categories that our products will qualify for using HGACBuy. We have our products listed under the Wildland Fire Apparatus (Brush Fire), and Pumper/Tankers & Tankers. With multiple tank sizes, body configurations and pump configurations, we feel confident we have submitted products that will fit the needs of potential customers not only in Texas but throughout the United States,” said Atchison.
